A pocas semanas de finalizada la feria de videojuegos E3, los organizadores dieron a conocer el listado con los juegos elegidos como lo mejor del evento que reúne a lo más destacado de la industria, en un año con pocas novedades jugables y sí muchos anuncios con miras a 2018.

Esto quedó reflejado en los 58 títulos revelados en la lista, de los que destacan los nuevos Assassin's Creed: Origins y Super Mario Odyssey, ambos con tres postulaciones de un total de 17 categorías.

Asimismo, cabe señalar que del total de juegos nominados sólo se toman en cuenta a los que contaron con un demo jugable de 5 minutos en el evento, por lo que títulos como Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, Anthem, A Way Out, Beyond Good & Evil 2, Cuphead, God of War, Hunt: Showdown, Kingdom Hearts 3, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, Metroid Prime 4, Monster Hunter World, NBA Live 18, Ori and the Will of Wisps, Shadow of the Colossus, Spider-Man, State of Decay 2, The Evil Within 2, Uncharted: Lost Legacy y Xenoblade Chronicles 2 quedaron fuera.
