Como es tradición, la Comic-Con de San Diego fue el escenario de la ceremonia más importante de los cómics: los Premios Eisner.

Este año, sin duda la mayor sorpresa la representó la victoria de Giant Days como mejor serie regular, además de mejor publicación de humor, imponiéndose a apuestas mucho más mainstream como Batman y The Inmmortal Hulk, además del celebrado Black Hammer: Age of Doom.

En tanto, Mister Miracle volvió a ganar como mejor serie limitada y sus creativos ganaron sus respectivas estatuillas, ya que Tom King fue destacado como mejor guionista y Mitch Gerards hizo lo propio como mejor dibujante/entintador. No solo eso, King también ganó por la historia corta del Especial de Invierno de La Cosa del Pantano y su The Vision ganó en la categoría de mejor álbum gráfico reimpreso.

Por su parte, la propuesta de terror Gideon Falls ganó en la categoría de mejor serie nueva y My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies ganó como mejor álbum gráfico, gracias al trabajo dela dupla Brubaker-Phillips. Y como dato final antes de publicar los ganadores de cada categoría, el premio especial de mejor tienda se lo llevó "La Revistería" de Buenos Aires.
